In its new Juke Box format, this programme remembers and marks the movement, or transition, of popular music over the decades. Each weekday highlights two decades and shows how gradually sounds and characteristics change. And of course some of the likes and dislikes of each generation. You’ll see a slow but definite change each day – Monday deals with the 1940s and 1950s, Tuesday the 1950s and 1960s, Wednesday the 1960s and 1970s, Thursday the 1970s and 1980s, and finally Friday with the 1980s and 1990s. Of course if you think we’ve stopped short, you can hear the 2000s and 2010s in our ‘Juke Box A.M. – 21 Again' programme each day at 9am. Don’t forget you can hear all the decades represented and played on Saturday’s flagship ‘Decades Show between 10am and 1pm, and earlier on ‘The Little Decades Show’ Saturdays at 2am. These kind of programmes are designed to hit the nostalgia button for those who remember these days, and for those who don’t, they’ll act as a bit of an education and hopefully will help develop a greater love for more music. The feelgood factor here is rife!
